We had a nice visit from Aaron's parents at the end of September. The kids love their grandparents and are always talking about them and wanting to draw them pictures. Especially Claire.

Grandpa Adams reading stories to the kids.

It was too hot in Phoenix to have much fun outside (still 100 plus degrees). So we decided to make a trip to Flagstaff and perhaps to the Grand Canyon. None of us had ever been before so we decided to make it a priority. Uncle Dan drove over from California and made the trip with us.

Uncle Dan tested his fear of heights by dangling his feet over the edge of the southern rim.

We hiked along the rim trail from the eastern edge back to the central look out point. It was about a mile and a half. It was a beautiful day with quite a view. The kids were happy to be able to be out of the car and to get some wiggles out. There weren't so much free to run around as they would please, however. This was the Grand Canyon and no one wanted to see any cliff diving there.

With a four year old and a two year old - both head strong and somewhat hyperactive- I was more comfortable near these fenced areas.

Despite a few heart skipping moments near the edge, we are happy to report that neither of our children had any major accidents or falls and are alive and well.

It's always nice to come back from the Grand Canyon with the same head count as you left with. Looks like it was a fun trip. I haven't been there since our kids were about that age. Suzanne and I are talking about a drive up there next month though.
Cool! What a fun trip
